Well, honestly, we were speechless when we woke up to Chainlacing’s<\/a><\/strong> rendition of “Girl, so confusing” last week (November 28). Pop’s hatchet burial of the decade — orchestrated by Charli XCX and Lorde — was a whip-smart document of mixed signals and mended relationships when it debuted last year as part of Charli’s BRAT<\/em> rollout, and the song sounds just as fresh when filtered through Chainlacing’s dreamy “gloomgaze” this winter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cover from the New Hampshire band appears on a new compilation<\/a> benefitting Science Club For Girls<\/a>, a nonprofit that “fosters excitement, confidence, and literacy in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for girls and gender-expansive youth from underrepresented communities.” Some other familiar names on the album include Sailor Down, Linnea’s Garden, TIFFY, Thrust Club, and Sapling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
