E<\/em><\/strong>ditor\u2019s Note<\/strong>: \u201cBoston Thriving\u201d is an ongoing series from Vanyaland highlighting and honoring the national and global success of Boston- and New England-based bands and artists.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This fall, Couch<\/a><\/strong> are getting asses off sofas. The Boston band today (April 22) announced a headlining tour that will bring them to the largest venues they’ve played to date, culminating with a home turf finale at Roadrunner in Brighton on November 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The run will bring Couch’s funk- and soul-pop to venues like Brooklyn Steel and Washington D.C.’s famed 9:30 Club, although the tour flyer promises “many more dates TBA,” as well as the opportunity to add-on a pre-show VIP experience. The news feels like a natural next step for the band, who have previously performed at Boston Calling (pictured above) and Levitate Music & Arts Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, Couch’s history at other Bowery Boston venues — selling out The Sinclair and Royale — illustrates a pipeline that The Bowery Presents’ vice president discussed with Vanyaland<\/em><\/a> <\/em>when Roadrunner opened in 2022. In recent years, the band has successfully advanced from smaller clubs to Roadrunner’s 3,500-person footprint, climbing the ladder of Bowery’s local venues as their monthly Spotify listeners climbs in tandem (as of print time, that number stands at 376,000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band will warm up for the tour this summer while joining Lake Street Dive — another Massachusetts-born band — for a handful of shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tickets go on sale this Friday, just ahead of their appearance at The Town And The City Festival in Lowell; check out the initial list of headlining dates below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
